In my bathroom you will always find tools for a daily detox. They are life-changing tools that I like to use in my daily routine.
The first is an ayervedic tongue cleaner. The Ayurvedic copper tongue cleaner from Cosmic Dealer is my go-to morning detox tool. The first thing I do when I wake up is scrape the layer of bacteria off my tongue that builds up overnight. Can you imagine that without tongue scraping, while drinking your first green detox smoothie or tea, matcha or coffee, you would also take in all the thousands of bacteria that have accumulated overnight in your mouth and on your tongue? As such, this serves as a fantastic first step in your morning routine.
Also great for your immune system because a happy and balanced oral microbiome is important to keep you fit and healthy.
I admit that I didn't write what follows below, but here you will find everything you need to know and why you should purchase this fantastic tool in your routine:
- Improves breath and oral hygiene: by removing harmful bacteria
- Balances oral microbiome: scraping off the bad guys and leaving the good
- Reinforces immunity: the mouth is one of the body's first lines of defence
- Improves sense of taste: by removing bacteria covering taste buds
- Improves digestion: by activating saliva
- Life-changing: because tiny changes lead to big shifts in your wellbeing
The second one is dry brushing. You will hear me talk about this more often. I am not an expert but a fervent practitioner. I usually try to do it in the morning for an uplifting effect, then I jump into the shower (a cold shower is even better, but I'm working on that) and then I apply a delicious amount of body oil or cream. When I dry brush in the evening, which happens a little less often, I take a bath and so it has a slightly more relaxing effect.
Dry brushing is great for full-body exfoliation with lots of health benefits. It instantly leaves your skin smoother which makes the creams and body oils absorb faster. In addition, it can help improve lymphatic drainage and shed excess skin cells.
Start at the bottom of your feet and make smooth straight strokes upwards, always brushing towards your heart, the centre of your body, where your lymph system drains.
So nice for your body but also your mind to take the time to dry brush in the morning or evening.
Take the time for these little rituals, they can make a big difference in your daily life.
